Week 8

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

How far along? We know for sure 8 but as of yesterday's ultrasound, the drs office had me at 8 weeks 5 days (so 6 days today if you do the math)

Total weight gain/loss: Still hanging in around +/-7lbs

How big is baby? The size of Raspberry.  Average size is .63 inches, .04 oz.  Those little arms and little legs are moving like crazy.  We saw that yesterday on the ultra sound.
  • You can't feel it yet, but baby's moving those arms and legs like crazy!
  • Baby's fingers and toes are now only slightly webbed and tail (yup, baby has one) is gone.
  • Fun fact: Baby's taste buds are now forming.

Maternity Clothes? Well, no, not yet... but I have been wearing hubby's t-shirts because I feel like I look fat.

Stretch Marks? None that I know of other than originals

Best moment this week? Seeing the baby on the ultrasound.  Seeing it's little heart pumping and getting to hear the heart beat.  It got a new name this week from bug to Peanut and it'll probably stick... lol because that's what it looked like on the ultrasound.  It's heart rate came in at 162 beats per minute.

Movement? too early but we sure saw it moving on the ultrasound!

Food Cravings/Aversions? Sadly, steak.  that's an aversion.  Then trying to eat Thanksgiving meal was a bit tricky...  No real cravings this week although something I hadn't had in years sounded really good yesterday but I can't remember what it was right this minute.

What I miss: My clothes fitting and not feeling like I look fat.  Right now I'm at the stage I'm not showing, I just look fat.  Being able to read the weather forecast without crying.  although I think that was partially due to I kept checking out the Thanksgiving day forecast and it brought happy memories to me.

What I'm looking forward to: I don't really know.

Nausea/Vomiting? I've had my feeling nauseous moments but other than that I'm doin all right.

Labor signs? Oh good heavens no.

Gender? Don't know but I can tell you we're finding out.

Belly Button in or out? I have an inny thanks for asking :)

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Sleep? Other than multiple trips to the bathroom at night. I've had dreams about food though, mainly turkey... and that makes me where I'm not sleeping well.... it's weird.

Weekly Wisdom: You might as well invest in waterproof eyeliner and mascara because at the drop of a hat you can start crying and there is absolutely NO reason needed.  Oy!  Also pregnant women shouldn't skip lunch or in my case forget your money at home and also your lunch.  No fun!

Due Date: Thursday June, 26, 2014... based off of the ultra sound we're looking at July 4th, 2014...

It's all Kenzie's Fault!

So Monday when I logged in and started reading blog posts I stumbled across Kenzie's post of the US.  The trick is, she drew the map and then filled it in.  I smarted off that she didn't know where I lived (it's not drawn on her map) and that got us into discussing this which caused her to challenge me to try drawing the map as well.

Now, first off I'm NOT an artist, but here's my map.

I got all 50 states.  That was the first defeat!  In the west I placed Utah in the wrong place :(.  And because I didn't draw the states to their actual size, it kind of scrunched states into places they really don't belong, but I have them in the right place/order.  On the East coast I switched New Hampshire with Vermont, Pennsylvania with New York, Massachusetts with Connecticut.  Otherwise, if I had drawn the states to the right size, they'd have all been in the right place.

Just to prove it :)

This so reminded me of the Friend's Thanksgiving episode when Chandler challenged all of them to name all 50 states in 5 minutes.  So yeah, anyway, there's my map, are you willing to give it a try?  If so please let me know!!!

And tomorrow is Thanksgiving so I hope you all have safe travels to your destinations.  Spend time with family, Eat way to much and have a fantastic weekend!!!  I love you all!

Where did the weekend go?!?!

I'm beginning to think coming up on the end of the semester that it's making the weeks drag on and the weekends fly by... or maybe that's just normal....

Friday - I woke up Friday morning to a small layer of ice on my windows.  Fun right?  It was quite cold.

I had an appointment to meet with my professor at noon so I skipped lunch sadly so I was flippin hungry.  Hubby skipped lunch as well so we ate an early dinner.  I found out he and JT were going to set up his deer stand out at my grandma's.  I went and wandered around Walmart.  Whoa, crazy night right?!?!  Then I went home and watched tv with the cat.  Hubby finally got home and off to bed we went.

Saturday - I woke up at 6:30 to go to the bathroom.  The way hubby left blankets I thought he was still in bed with me, but turns out he had gone deer hunting (last weekend) and I was in bed alone.  I slept in until 8:30.  AL went out hunting with hubby and she got her first deer.  Yey!

Then hubby came home and we got into watching a movie we started the night before, Merry In-Laws.  Gotta love Lifetime and Hallmark channels at Christmas time!!  Okay okay so we're only at Thanksgiving but still....

Then hubby and I ran to town and grabbed lunch and went to the store.  From there he conned (haha) me into going hunting with him.  I took my camera but the weather was SOOOOOOOOO cold that my hands stayed in my pocket the whole time.  Sadly we didn't see a darn thing.  Then hubby and I went up and chatted with my grandma before deciding to head home.  Once we got home it was hot shower, dinner and bed.  We were in bed by 9:30.  Dang we're exciting around this place!

Sunday - We were up at 7am.  yuck!  I didn't sleep well at all Saturday/Sunday night.  Just before bed I watched Iron Chef America - Cranberry edition Bobby Flay and Giada De Laurentiis vs Mario Batali and Rachael Ray.  Anyway I had dreams about that ALL. NIGHT. LONG.  Food that is.  Oy!  We decided to get up and start prepping some things for our Thanksgiving Turkey.  My mom called and asked if we wanted to meet them for lunch so we went and had lunch with my parents and went to Sams.  Then we came home and I started writing a paper and hubby went to help Earl and Pokey with their house.  Sunday night dinner consisted of Italian so I made our contribution and we headed to SND.  The end of the night ended with me working on my paper some more.  Yey, such a fun day and weekend.

Even though we really didn't have much planned, I didn't get a lot of relaxing done this weekend I guess because this morning I'm exhausted.  I guess because I didn't sleep well last night either contributes to that.  OY!  Just think though this week is Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!  Yey!
