There are ALWAYS things to smile about!

So today is another wonderful round of 10 Things to Smile About.  This month kind of rared it's ugly head at me, but there are still wonderful things to smile about this month!

1.  Does Easter 2013 count?  I mean technically it was the very end of March, but I'm soooo counting it!

2.  Some reassuring words were shared.  I really need to keep reading these!!!

3/4.  The Colonel was born.  Plus we finally decided upon his name.

5.  I entered this photo in a photo contest....

6.  We went Raccoon hunting for the first time, which was coincidentally my first time hunting ever!

7.  I shared 26 truths about myself.

8.  Mini Me got a check up that went really well.

9.  I continued to sweat my buns off with Revolt Fitness.  Now I think I need just a bit of motivation...  Come on scale, help me out here, please!

10.  Tbug and I spent a nice rainy morning hanging out together waiting on her daddy to come back home.

I'm also linking up with IA and Shawn for Talk to us Tuesday

Here's to the Future

Like many of us, I am a creature of habit.  It is comfortable when things go the same way, day in and day out.  Get up, go to work, come home, do my workout, play with the pooches, eat dinner, spend time with hubby, throw in some horse back riding and time with the {step}daughter, and then get up and do it again the very next day.  It makes life feel easy.  Yes, we have our obstacles thrown in there on a daily or weekly or monthly basis, but at the same time, those are fairly regular as well.

Lately though, a storm has been brewing in these parts, waiting to unleash its fury on the people who are near.  I don't really want to talk much about it just yet, and don't worry, my marriage is still very strong, so no worries there, but at the same time, a whole new chapter in my life is about to unfold.

It's very edgy, very scary, and truthfully I have no idea which way it will lead me.  Possibly any person in their right mind would want to jump ship, but that's not an option.  I can reassure you though, that I have the absolute best husband, {step}daughter, parents, family and friends that a girl could possibly ever need or want.  They all stand behind me 100% and back my every whim.

Although to say I'm scared sh*tless would be quite the understatement.  I am nervous.  I am scared.  I'm not real sure what the outcome is going to be, which makes it even more nerve racking.

You may or may not have noticed that I kind of disappeared late last week, but I just didn't know how to put words and thoughts together.  I'm still not quite sure, but if nothing else, I'm sure it will be one heck of a ride.

And to that, Early and I toasted to the future.

Happy Birthday

Today is my Great Auntie E's 91st birthday.  Tbug, hubby and I brought her, my grandma (who is recovering from her surgery) and Auntie E's "boyfriend" some Cherry Pie and homemade Honey Wheat Bread.

Happy Birthday Auntie E.  You're still a cracker jack!

Laying: in bed under the electric blanket, not because I'm cold, but that may be why.

Trying: to gather up my words and thoughts.

Greatful for: My amazing family and friends that God has placed into my life.

Happy: That I finally got our bedroom cleaned! Just wish I had a before photo!

Getting ready to: Watch PW's new episode (if there is one)

Life Turns and Morel Mushroom Hunting

This has been a day of emotional roller coaster rides.  But on the plus side, the positive side, the side that matters, my mother-in-law and my husband have been there for me in a time I really needed someone.  Then my dad met hubby and I for lunch and gave me more soothing words.  Things have just taken a very hard right in my life.  Things have really just thrown me.  And I know I'm being extremely vague, but at the same time, it's still to raw to totally go into detail.  In the meantime, let me show you our adventures we took today.

This morning we decided to go Morel Mushroom hunting.  Out in this pasture, to the North side we've always had luck.  we parked at my grandma's house and took off on the hunt.

My dad's always told me that when the May Flowers are out, that's when the mushrooms are out.

We had luck finding turkey feathers...

And all kinds of other wild berry bushes.

Hubby took off down this large gully trying to find Morels.

But we had no luck.  So we went back to my parents house where we met my mother-in-law and turned the horses out for the day.

Then my dad called and invited us to lunch.  Asked how Morel Mushroom hunting went and we told him no luck.  He told us to go to the Peony field and see if we could find anything there.  What did we find?  A big, old well for a house that no longer exists...  And it's supposed to be covered up.

We found the old barn that has caved in on some old farm machinery.

We found more green and downed tree limbs.

And the Peony Field looks awesome... getting ready for hay season.

But no luck finding mushrooms.

So we came back to the house and hubby actually conned me into jumping on the 4-wheeler with him and go muddin.  I'd say we went muddin, what do you think?

We even had to strip off outside so we didn't drag mud in through the house.

And that, would be my day.

The Shack: Nacho Night

Nacho night was a big hit in my opinion.

Everyone was told to bring Tortilla chips, I'd say we faired nicely, especially since there are more than what's in this photo.  Now we have chips for a while.

Liss brought Cheese dip that had white cheese in it.

Angela brought Spinach Artichoke Dip.  Yum!

Ah, this was my lovely creation.  I didn't bring any home.

Chicken toppings

Hamburger toppings

Black Olives

Fajita meat

Sour Cream

And regular plain nacho cheese

Wonder what the hours are??

Memaw brought Cherry Cobbler.  Yum!  She kept apologizing if it wasn't sweet enough and I kept giving her fits about putting down my cherry tree :)

And it cracked me up where a chip fell (look under the crockpot lid)

And it was a lovely, chilly, rainy night.
