Then hubby said he needed to get up and out of bed. He was aching. I agreed, I was too. We wanted to do "something" but couldn't decide what. We debated going to breakfast or to the Amish store. Then we started throwing out suggestions for actually going somewhere.
When it was all said and done, for whatever reason, we decided to get dressed, load up in the car and head to Kansas City. Btw, can I tell you I've been to Kansas City more since I've been married than I think I have in my whole life... Not much of an exaggeration there either.
I heard they got a lot more snow in KC than we did, but wow. (The high at home on Saturday was like 34, same roughly for KC. When we got home the snow was fairly gone, but not up there...)
Our first stop of the day was the City Market (aka Farmer's Market).
Can I just tell you how much I love that place. When you can buy 6 green bell peppers for $1 and they're nice, that's saying something. Around here at the grocery store, the green bell peppers are about 79 cents each.
Sorry but this Farmer's Market beats any I've been to yet! We had reservations for dinner at 5:30. Since we got to KC around lunch time, we decided to find some place close to the market to eat lunch so hopefully we'd be hungry by dinner time. We settled on Minksy's Pizza.
After lunch we decided to head to Cabela's for a little bit.
Then we were off to Trader Joe's. I love that grocery store, can I just say that. I know I've said love a lot in this post, but wow. Food and me, we're like this (imagine my fingers wrapped around each other).
Once we were finished grocery shopping we headed to the Plaza to find a parking spot and wind up at Buca di Beppo in time for our reservation at 5:30.
One awesome thing about Miss Tbug is she'll try foods. I've finally drilled it into her head enough to try new things. The great thing about Buca di Beppo is she ate what we ate since it is served family style. We started off with Fried Mozzarella cheese. YUM!
Then for our main meal we got Prosciutto stuffed Chicken. She told us she'd been there with her mom before and all she was able to have was Spaghetti so she was super excited to try this chicken. She absolutely loved it too.
And of course you can't go there without getting dessert.
