So jump forward a few months and I started dating my husband, the man who likes seafood type foods :). So I made it a point to take him down to Bayou. He's been hooked ever since.
Here recently we decided to have an impromptu date night and decided upon Bayou for dinner.
Very seldom do we start with an appetizer, although once in a while we get it in our head to try something as a starter. This night we went with the fried pickles. They are hand-battered and fried crispy, choose from dill slices or spears.
Hubby went for the Riverwalk Sampler which includes catfish, oysters, shrimp, and seafood gumbo served with 2 hush puppies and garlic toast.
Now if you go on the weekend they have some kind of crawdad platter thing (something or other) that hubby loves to get. I'm not sure if this is an option on weeknights or not... we didn't look or ask.
She also asked if we wanted some jalapeno cornbread. Yes please!
I went for the New Orleans Mardi Gras pasta. A colorful blend of chicken and andouille sausage, then smothered with their homemade Alfredo sauce on tri-colored rotini pasta. I know, I go to a seafood place and order something that isn't seafood, but whatever :). This is yummy! That's all that matters.

That place looks right up my alley! My momma is from Louisiana.
Man you guys eat the BEST food!
OK, first I thought those were fried round zucchini and started craving that... then I read fried pickles and now I'm craving those... OK, I haven't eaten yet... I need to go eat. Now, what am I going to eat?
